I think I'm a fairly impartial judge, as I am not a fan of the music to begin with. But by random accident, (or happy coincidence?) the radio was playing Tori Amos when I read a couple of these vignettes, and I really recommend the combo. Her haunted and spare but fantastical sound is well complimented by the vastly differing styles and textures of story.
Beautiful, substantial, and elevating.
I've wanted to get this book for some time now. It's good to hear that others are enjoying it.
